Tigers lose at The Jungle.

Cas lose 8-50 against the Giants.

giants loss

Craig Lingard’s Tigers side got the clash underway with a high boot from Luke Hooley, Huddersfield weren’t in possession for long however as an early forward pass gave Cas the ball early on.

A high tackle on Alex Mellor followed giving Cas a chance on the Giants line early on, a short pass to debutant Sylvester Namo was unfortunately dropped in contact.

It was the visitors who struck first through Adam Swift, an overlap on Cas’ right edge allowed the winger to walk over the line.

Huddersfield scored again 13 minutes in through Adam Clune, the halfback spotted a gap at the back and chipped for himself putting the visitors up by 12.

Hooker, Ashton Golding nearly went over for another as he ran out of dummy half but the Jamaican international dropped the ball short of the line.

Cas hit back with a try of their own when Innes Senior crashed over after 25 minutes, Luke Hooley’s conversion bounced off the post.

Sam Halsall got a try for himself after Jake Connor fired a ball to him in the corner and the winger dived over with less than 10 minutes to go in the first half.

Sam Hall then had some poor discipline as a late shot on Olly Russell allowed the Giants to add the extra two points.

Cas made matters worse with seconds to go when Luke Hooley spilled a Jake Connor kick, the ball was then passed wide and Sam Hewitt dived over in front of the travelling supporters.

The teams went into the sheds with Huddersfield 24-4 up at the half.

A first glance of attacking play came from Cas when a Sam Wood offload allowed Cas to march up the field.

The fords followed up on this attacking play when Innes Senior picked up a loose offload and danced past multiple Huddersfield defenders and diving over for his second.

Cas nearly bounced straight back with another as Charbel Tasipale brushed off defenders, but the second rower spilt the ball just short.

The Tigers could’ve added to their tally moments later but a quick pass hit the floor.

The Giants put themselves in front when a questionable six again call was given by the referee, Leroy Cudjoe was there to dive over.

A fantastic break from Jacob Miller looked to help Cas add some more points, however sloppy play from Cas allowed Adam Swift to pick up the ball and run 70 metres to score.

Huddersfield added another try to put the game even further to bed with 10 minutes to go, a scrum play allowed Sam Halsall to walk over.

It wasn’t long til the Giants scored again, a poor display from Cas allowed Leroy Cudjoe to go through the line and beat Luke Hooley.

Kevin Naiqama made Cas’ day even worse when he finished the game off by dotting down off the Tigers kick off, finishing off a day to forget for the Fords.

A disappointing day at the office for Castleford see’s Huddersfield run away winners at the Jungle.
