Captain's Corner - Salford Reaction

A first Super League win as Captain, how was the match from your perspective Woody?
"It wasn’t perfect, but that’s Rugby League, I’m just really happy to get the two points. We ground it out, a couple of decisions didn’t go our way but that happens and I’m just really proud of the players, for sticking it in there, toughing it out and we found a way to win which is what’s most important."
You took some blows; can you tell us what happened out there?
"Just a bit of a knock to my elbow then landed on Brierley’s boot early into the second half which jammed into my ribs but hopefully nothing too serious. It’s a tough game, you’ve got to expect these kinds of things and it’s all worth it when you come away with the two points.
"And we’ve got a good chance to keep working hard this week with no game, so get into training, keep plugging away, keep working on things we need to work on because like I said it was by no means perfect, but we’ve put ourselves in a really good position to kick on now."
How does it feel to win tonight and how was the changing room?
"The changing rooms were buzzing, to win any game is great but tonight was really good for us. To get over the line, get those two points, to get our first win especially in front of our own fans who always support us so well, was great, so hopefully we can get some momentum, get some confidence and we can really start to kick on."
