Castleford Tigers Women & Bronte Barbarians Girls Partnership

Castleford Tigers Women are thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with Bronte Barbarians Girls for 2025. This partnership is designed to support the development of young female players by providing them with appropriate playing and training opportunities, helping create a smooth transition into Women’s Rugby League.

Mat Lancaster, Castleford Tigers Foundation, highlighted the significance of the partnership, saying, "This is an exciting development for our women’s team, and we are looking forward to working with the players, coaches, and staff at Bronte Barbarians. Ant and Dale have done an outstanding job developing the players. Through this partnership, young players will have the opportunity to stay involved in the community game for longer, allowing them to progress at their own pace whilst we provide the necessary guidance as they transition to open-age Rugby League, ensuring they are appropriately challenged for their stage of development and given the support to reach their full potential."

Anthony Tonks, Bronte Barbarians Head Coach, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, adding, "We’re really looking forward to working alongside Mat and the Castleford Tigers Women team. It’s important that pathways are in place for female players, and this approach will provide the players with the support they need to take the next step into women’s Rugby League.”

It’s clear that they’ve come from a great environment at Bronte, with their attitude and effort being first-class. We’re excited to continue this journey with them as they develop further."

We would like to wish the Bronte Barbarians Under-16s Girls the very best of luck in their Premier League Final on Saturday, 19th October 2024. Kick-off is at 14:15 hrs at Featherstone Rovers.
