Huddersfield Giants V Castleford Tigers

Cas pile on the pressure early at the John Smith stadium

The tigers looked great in the first half and looked to continue that further throughout the game.

Huddersfield countered Castleford with skill and speed to secure continuous pressure in both halves of the pitch

The Knock on from Jake bibby in the  8th minute allowed Cas a great attack which was thwarted well by a tight Huddersfield defence.

Very closely followed was an error from Cas with an unfortunate knock-on  leading to a Huddersfield ball.

Rooney has been consistent all game with the continuous high balls Huddersfield have and continued to launched.

Along with this being his 250th appearance Miller had a  really excellent kicking game alongside Rooney.

Sam Hewitt breaks through to secure the giants their first try of the game. With a conversion from Olly Russell.

Followed by a powerful try from Harry Rushton in the 22nd minute. Converted once again by Olly Russell.

Cas struggled with problems in the first half defensively and offensively failing to counter the Giants play.

6 minutes later, Aiden Mcgowan scored another great team try for the giants. Castleford struggled to keep up with the giant’s speed. Olly Russell missed conversion also.

The Tigers launched a ferocious attack but were stumped very close to the giants try line due to an unfortunate knock-on in the 35th minute.

Tui Lolohea breaks and scores an excellent solo try to deny any hopes of a come back in the first half. Following the try Russell converts.

End of 1st half

An Adam Clune try in 48th minute alongside a conversion from Olly Russell leads to a disappointed start for the Tigers but It’s great to see all three 18 year olds playing.

Young Fletcher Rooney has been playing great all game, alongside a very strong Sly Namo.

Jacob Miller kicks a lovely corner kick to which qare qare catches and scores a lovely team try.

Conversion is kicked well by Milnes to secure the two points.

Huddersfield have come out flying in the second half and have scored within 10 minutes to thwart any comeback Cas thought they may have

Another try from Huddersfield as Sam Hewitt produced a great solo run to secure the victory for the giants. Russell converted again.

Cas struggled to get back into this game since scoring and have looked a bit lost.

The Tigers pass through the line and allow Mellor to dive over the line. It was a lovely team try.  Milnes converts to practically conclude the game.
