It was a warm but windy evening in East Hull as Cas travelled to Craven Park to face the Robins in Friday night’s clash.

Former Robin, Rowan Milnes got us underway with a high testing kick towards the hosts which was safely collected.

Cas hit first in the opening five minutes through Alex Mellor when he barged over the line out wide from a Tex Hoy short pass. The Video Referee was called into play

The Robins responded within five minutes however when a drop off play from Niall Evalds allowed Peta Hiku to beat the Tigers defenders to score. Mikey Lewis’ conversion was unsuccessful which left Cas in front after ten played.

Multiple repeat sets on their own line left Cas struggling, some off the cuff rugby allowed Joe Burgess to rush in down the line on the short side leaving Cas behind by six.

Cas nearly answered back when Elie El Zakhem briefly broke the line, a flick pass to Rowan Milnes allowed Cas to go out wide but Tex Hoy couldn’t take the pass.

Tex Hoy burst his way through the line to give Cas hope win ten to play but a last tackle kick was caught by Joe Burgess. Oliver Gildart then broke on the outside finding Hull KR’s star man Mikey Lewis on the inside.

The Robins went even further in front when Ryan Hall got himself over for his first of the evening. A wrap around play from Parcell created the overlap and Ryan Hall barged his way past Tex Hoy to score.

A poor last twenty minutes compared to the opening quarter left Cas behind at the break.

Nixon Putt was sent to the bin early on in the second half for a tip tackle on Peta Hiku. Matters got worse for the Fords soon after when Cain Robb left the field with a shoulder injury.

A questionable high shot from Joe Westerman left the Tigers skipper bewildered after six minutes played, Mikey Lewis then converted the penalty to put Hull KR fourteen points ahead.

Sauaso Sue left the field for ten minutes for dissent after a Tigers penalty, Referee Liam Rush took it into his own hands to give the yellow card.

Hull KR had two opportunities within minutes through Mikey Lewis and Oliver Gildart both players were through and metres away from the line but Lewis was caught by Qareqare and moments later Gildart was metres away from scoring, but he dropped the inside pass to put KR further ahead.

Poor Tigers defending allowed Joe Burgess to get his second of the evening when Peta Hiku burst down the line after multiple missed tackles, a pass on the inside then found Burgess who dived over.

It was two within seconds for the Robins, Joe Burgess recived the pass out wide and glided past Jacob Miller turning him inside and out, the inside pass found former Tiger Niall Evalds who dived over to score.

Tyrone May put the game to bed when he crashed over from close after a Mikey Lewis offload, poor defensive display from Cas once again.

Cas were unfortunately beaten by the better side on Friday evening, a soft defensive display from Cas allowed the Robins to be on the winning side.
