Castleford Tigers are offering voluntary student internships to physiotherapy, sports therapy and sports rehabilitation students. We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic students to work with our various squads, starting now and lasting through the 2024 season & 2025 season.

We have full-time/daytime placements, and part-time/evening placements available.

Why choose the Castleford Tigers RLFC Internship?

  • Limited places available, allowing you as much one-to-one teaching with a qualified sports physiotherapist. No more sharing opportunities with large groups of students.
  • Individualised development programme, tailored to your specific needs, helping to prepare you for a career in sport.
  • Become part of the team - You'll feel at home and work with us towards the success of the club.
  • Maximised learning opportunities - Not just being used for soft tissue therapy. You will gain experience in all areas, including MSK assessment, rehab, gameday management, concussion, medical emergencies, record keeping & governance, strapping and padding, and much more.
  • Regular internal CPD sessions with certificates.
  • 100% of our last cohort of students would recommend our internship to other students.

Requirements:

  • In the 2024/2025 academic year, you should be in your second, third or fourth year of a Physiotherapy / Sports Therapy / Sports Rehabilitation degree
  • Commitment to attend all training sessions and games (2-4 sessions per week, depending on which squad)
  • Enthusiastic about developing your skills in an elite sporting environment
  • Car driver (not essential but useful)
  • Available throughout the rugby league season (Feb-September) including University holidays / live local
