The first half got underway with a high boot from Lachie Miller in the wet conditions, after a successful coin toss the Leeds Rhinos elected to attack towards the Wheldon Road end.

Cas put the pressure on early going 100 metres down the field and forcing a goal line drop out as Lachie Miller knocked the ball dead. Strong defence followed from the Rhinos forced the knock on from Sam Wood.

With 5 minutes gone Danny Richardson chose to attempt the 2 points from 40 metres out, the halfback unfortunately hit the post and Ash Handley collected for the Rhinos.

A 20-minute spell of possession was all Cas; however no points were scored and the game remained scoreless with the Rhinos hanging on with minimum attacking rugby being played.

Moments later, after a Liam Watts interception the Tigers found themselves on the Rhinos line once again, another attacking kick from Miller put Cas within inches of scoring, but the Rhinos were there again to knock it dead in goal.

The Rhinos had their first chance as Sam Lisone marched them down the field with two carries after a poor Joe Westerman kick which was collected by Lachie Miller.

A quality effort from the Tigers in the first half with plenty of chances to crash over but the game remained scoreless, and the teams went into the sheds with game at 0-0.

The Tigers got themselves off to a slow start when a penalty within seconds of the whistle for a high shot allowed Leeds to dot down within 2 minutes, Aaron Moore sent the play up as a try it was confirmed by Jack Smith upstairs.

Paul Momirovski got over for his second of the day after some poor Tigers defence allowed the opposition to slip through the line and find Momirovski.

Cas were their own worst enemies in the second half when a goal line drop out from Danny Richardson went out on the full, Rhyse Martin put the visitors even further ahead after converting the penalty.

The Rhinos went over once again when Luis Roberts knocked down a kick and Lachie Miller pounced on a loose ball.

Cas answered back and eventually got their first points on the board through Josh Simm who collected a loose ball off the floor and dived over attempting to give Cas hope with less than 10 minutes to go.

The Tigers momentum was short lived when Brodie Croft burst through the line and found Lachie Miller who dived over in front of the travelling Rhinos fans, putting the game even further to bed.

A poor second half display from the Tigers allowing the Rhinos to take the points.
