The Castleford Tigers take on the Leeds Rhinos at the Mend A Hose Jungle.

It's Rivals Round this weekend and the Tigers are hunting for their first win on Derby Day against the Rhinos.

The Tigers got their first competitive win in the Challenge Cup last week against the Batley Bulldogs and will be looking to do the same again this week in Rivals Round.

Lingard on McGuire & The Rhinos

" Similar to myself at Batley last week, it's more about the Tigers vs the Rhinos rather than Magsy against Leeds."

"He's fully focused on being as well prepped as we possibly can for this game on Thursday and he's certainly firmly in the Castleford camp now."

Opposition View

The Rhinos are coming off back to back defeats against St Helens both in the Challenge Cup and in the Super League, with Rohan Smith's side now out of the Cup competition you can expect the Rhinos to come out in full force with only the league to play for.

The Squads

Castleford Tigers: Josh Simm, Jack Broadbent, Sam Wood, Innes Senior, Danny Richardson, Jacob Miller, Liam Watts, Paul McShane, George Lawler, Elie El Zakhem, Alex Mellor, Joe Westerman, Liam Horne, Josh Hodson, Sam Hall, Cain Robb, Brad Martin, Samy Kibula, Albert Vete, Luis Johnson, Daniel HindmarsH-Takyi

Key Battles

Westerman Vs Smith

The two loose forwards go head to head on Thursday night in a battle which could go either way. Both captains will take the field and attempt to boss the middle of the park. With both players being from Castleford, it could be a cracker.

Simm Vs Handley

Josh Simm is in try scoring form crashing over 3 times so far in the Super League competition however, he is behind top scorer Ash Handley of the Leeds Rhinos by 4 tries. Both wingers are a threat in the corner as well as being able to score from multiple distances.

Hodson Vs Newman

Two young centres could take the field with Josh Hodson making a possible Super League debut. He could be up against the Leeds strike player Harry Newman who represented England in 2023.
