Cas come into the fixture at The DW Stadium on the back of a vital and morale-boosting win in their last home match of 2023 against Hull FC. Scores from Greg Eden, Alex Foster, Jordan Turner, and a stunning Jason Qareqare brace saw off the Airlie Birds by 29 points to 12.

The Warriors will also be satisfied with their previous outing as Matt Peet’s side ran riot at Headingley by putting 50 points on Leeds Rhinos last weekend without conceding a point.

March marked the Tigers’ first meeting against Wigan in 2023 where it was the visitors who took the points on that occasion at The Jungle and the Fords will be keen to respond to that defeat earlier in the year and finish the season as strong as possible.

Gareth Widdop, Kenny Edwards, Alex Foster, Jacob Hookem, and Billy Tsikrikas are all absentees from the 21-man pack chosen ahead of the FC game.

Liam Horne and Jacob Miller both return to the squad after serving their two and one-match suspensions respectively. Sam Hall and George Lawler are also back after picking up knocks during the match at Warrington earlier in the month.

The last introduction to the line-up is Tigers Academy full-back Fletcher Rooney who is introduced into the senior squad for the first time. The youngster has had a standout year in Cas’ youth teams, scoring on 10 occasions in 11 games for the Academy side as well as making the step up to Reserves level this season, scoring once in five matches. Fletcher’s inclusion in the 21-man squad is an incredibly proud moment for him, his family, and the Tigers’ Youth Department who have worked with him since Scholarship level.
