Castleford’s Academy side return home to face Newcastle Thunder at Wheldon Road for a Friday night clash under the lights!

The Fords will be buoyed by a battling display against an unbeaten Saints side at The Totally Wicked Stadium in their previous fixture. It ended in a 58-24 loss, but the match provided a memorable moment for young half-back Jenson Windley who scored a stunning second-half hat-trick.

Thunder currently sit at the foot of the Academy league table with Cas positioned in ninth as they look to attack the last four games of the season.

Both the Tigers’ Social and Inclusion teams take to the field at The University of Hull for what is building up to be one of the biggest days in the Rugby League calendar with wheelchair, PDRL, and LDRL teams all in action on the day.

Kicking off at 11am, the Fords’ PDRL squad will look to build on an impressive run out in Manchester at their last festival. They took the scalps of both Hull FC and Salford on the day to go two from two.

This time around it’s Bradford and Warrington who are the opposition in Hull.

Cas’ inspirational LDRL squad are also in action in Humberside and will take on various other teams from Super League and Championship clubs taking part in what is always a brilliant day of sport.

FIRST TEAM – VS HULL FC (A) – SATURDAY 15th JULY 2023

Like our Scholars, the Tigers’ First Team also take on Hull FC away from home! The MKM Stadium will be the venue with the sides facing off for the third time already this season.

The Black and Whites took the spoils last time out against the Fords in the Challenge Cup at Wheldon Road back in May. Cas’ last visit to west Hull was a thrilling Super League opener which finished in a 32-30 victory for the hosts despite a spirited Tigers fightback.

It was fantastic to see so many of the travelling Cas Army over at The MKM Stadium at the opening game of the campaign and we’re looking forward to another big turnout this weekend!

Tony Smith’s men are coming off a derby success over Rovers, so it is building up to be a hotly contested battle with tickets for the game available in-store or online HERE!

WOMEN – VS SALFORD RED DEVILS (A) – SUNDAY 16th JULY 2023

After a home defeat to Leigh last weekend the Tigresses are on their travels on Sunday as they cross the Pennines to play Salford.

There were positives to take from the recent defeat to the Leopards for Rob Richardson’s pack but unfortunately, they couldn’t convert their chances.

The Red Devils are also coming off a defeat with Barrow taking home a 28-12 victory last weekend.

Sunday’s match-up will kick off at 12:15pm and will serve as a doubleheader as the fixture will be played ahead of Salford’s first team clash against Leigh.
