Castleford Tigers can confirm that Adam Milner has left the Club after serving the Fords with distinction for over 13 years and will join Huddersfield Giants on a loan deal which will be made permanent following the conclusion of the 2023 season.

Adam will be ineligible to play tomorrow night for Huddersfield Giants against the Tigers at The John Smith's Stadium.

After rising through the Academy ranks at Wheldon Road, the 31-year-old has gone on to make over 300 appearances for his boyhood side after making his debut in 2010.

Milner began his Cas career at hooker, but his ability to play in numerous positions shone through as he moved to loose forward and was a standout player, particularly in the League Leaders’ Shield-winning season of 2017, and in 2018.

Adam’s performances during that time earned him the honour of representing his country, featuring for England during the test series victory over New Zealand in 2018.

The 31-year-old’s pride and passion for the Club was clear to see in 2021 when Milner roared at the Fords faithful when Cas secured their place at Wembley by defeating Warrington Wolves in the Challenge Cup semi-final.

Adam wanted to make the following statement to reflect on an unforgettable 13 years with the Tigers and to thank everyone who has shown their support along the way.

“My time at Castleford Tigers has come to an end. It’s been my life for 13+ years. From making my debut at 18 years old in 2010, to going on to make 301 appearances and featuring in both a Grand Final and a Challenge Cup Final and being part of the first Cas team to ever win the league in 2017. I can honestly say I have put my heart and soul into the club and have got everything and more out of it. I have had some of the most incredible experiences that'll never be forgotten and made some of the best friendships along the way.

“I am immensely proud to have worn the Cas colours and represent this amazing club for so long. It has been an incredibly emotional time for me to leave but I am looking forward to a new challenge. I would just like to finish by saying a massive thank you to everyone, the players, coaches, my sponsors (AJ Glassfibre), and all the Fords faithful that have supported me throughout my time at the club and most importantly my family for their support.”

Tigers Head Coach Andy Last wanted to thank Adam for his dedication during his time at the Fords as well as putting forward that his departure could open up the possibility of incomings player-wise in the near future.

“Adz has been a wonderful servant to this club. It gave me great pleasure to give him the opportunity to make his 300th appearance for Castleford Tigers which I think made him the highest appearance maker in Super League for us.

“He’s served the club with great distinction since he has been here. He’s pursued an opportunity and we have been supportive of that. It means now that we have a clear pathway and some cap space to look at some players that can come in and help us moving forward.”

Everyone at Castleford Tigers would like to thank Adam for his unwavering commitment to the Club and wish him the very best for the future.
