Four Castleford teams will be taking to the field this week with the Club’s Scholars, Academy, First Team, and Women’s squads in action. All the information about the fixtures are below!

SCHOLARSHIP – VS NEWCASTLE THUNDER (H) – WEDNESDAY 3rd MAY 2023

The Tigers’ Scholarship side are back on home turf on Wednesday night when they take on Newcastle at The Jungle.

It was a back-and-forth affair last time out for the Club’s young scholars with them taking a 10-6 lead into the break at Huddersfield. Unfortunately, despite a valiant performance and scores from Connor Dale and Jack Pallister in the second 40, it was the Giants who took the win by 28 points to 20.

The Fords will be looking to bounce back on this occasion against the Thunder and don’t forget entry is FREE for 2023 Members and under 16s and it’s £5 for everyone else.

ACADEMY – VS LEEDS RHINOS (A) – FRIDAY 5th MAY 2023

Cas’ Academy picked up their first victory of 2023 in their previous fixture against Hull KR at Wheldon Road.

They came from behind to take the scalp of the Robins on the day with the Tigers putting on a memorable second-half display and the youngsters will be aiming to replicate that spirit this time around in Leeds.

The match will be played as a curtain raiser for the Rhinos’ first team contest against the Red Devils with kick-off scheduled for 5:30pm at Headingley.

FIRST TEAM – LEIGH LEOPARDS (A) – FRIDAY 5th MAY 2023

On the same night, the Tigers’ First Team are in a battle of their own when they head to the Leigh Sports Village for a clash with the Leopards.

It will be the Fords' first visit back to the Leigh Sports Village since their Challenge Cup semi-final success over Warrington in 2021 and their first contest against Leigh at the stadium since 2017.

On that occasion, Cas dominated a contest which ended in a 38-0 scoreline to the Tigers with Greg Eden scoring four, Jesse Sene-Lefao notching a brace, and Jake Webster also getting on the scoresheet.

The Fords fell short against KR in Round 10 so Andy Last will have his targets set on getting a response from his pack on Friday night.

Tickets are still available HERE.

WOMEN – VS ST HELENS (H) – SUNDAY 7th MAY 2023

Last but not least it’s the return of the Tigresses after a two-week break as they welcome strong opposition in St Helens to The Jungle.

It will be the Women’s second Challenge Cup group stage match after defeat to Warrington at home late last month.

Why not join us for some Sunday rugby at Wheldon Road and get behind the girls this weekend!
