Tigers to commemorate passing of former players

A minute’s applause will take place ahead of kick-off on Friday night to provide the opportunity for supporters to show their appreciation and pay their respects.

Prior to the Tigers kicking off their latest Super League fixture against Wigan Warriors on Friday night, the Club will mark the passing of four former players who sadly passed away during the off-season.

Johnson was a Yorkshire Cup winner in 1978 with victory over Featherstone and was part of the team who beat Leigh in the 1977 Floodlit Trophy final.

KEVIN BEARDMORE – HERITAGE NO. #611

Beardmore was part of one of the most famous Castleford teams of all time in 1986, Kevin has etched his name in the club’s history winning the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley, but also in that memorable year he was the Man of the Match in the Yorkshire Cup Final too.

Kevin represented Great Britain fourteen times from 1984 through to 1990, he also picked up one cap for England and played for Yorkshire on three occasions.
