The Tigers made it a day to remember for #ONECLUBMAN Nathan Massey as they beat Huddersfield Giants 48-10 at The Jungle!

The Tigers were put under pressure in the early stages after a dropped ball from Kenny Edwards and a highshot from Lawler, but they kept the visitors out. Some trickery from Jake Mamo in the in goal area stemmed the Giants attack, but could only force them to drop out!

It was Try time for Cas with their first meaningful attack! The blistering pace of Fords’ Full back Niall Evalds met a flat pass perfectly to break through, and with Mellor in support, a simple inside ball sent Alex in for the opener on 11 minutes. Gareth Widdop converted to gain his first points in Cas colours.

The Tigers didn’t have to wait long to extend their lead further! Just three minutes later after a 6-again call just 3 metres out led to a scoot from dummy half from McShane who bullied three Giants defenders and grounded!

The visitors were on the board on 23 minutes. After some brilliant Castleford defending, the ball found Lolohea whose dabbed kick through was grounded by Leroy Cudjoe in the corner.

Chances were limited in the 15 minutes that followed, with knock ons and six again calls for both sides.

On 37 minutes, the Wheldon Road roar sounded again! Cain Robb fired a pass towards the right wing. Faraimo received the pass in the air, landed and bamboozled Giants man Senior and grounded!

A hard fought first half by both sides, but the Tigers went into the break with the 16-4 advantage after First half tries from Faraimo, Mcshane and Mellor.

Huddersfield clawed their way back into the game just 6 minutes into the second half. After having most of the territory, the Giants put the ball through the hands and found Senior on the wing who evaded Tigers defenders to score.

The Tigers were back on the scoresheet on 52 minutes. Bureta Faraimo ran straight at Giants second rower Josh Jones and sent him flying backwards, leaving plenty of room for him to scoot over and ground towards the posts for his second of the night. 22-10 to the Fords with 25 minutes remaining.

He was over again just 5 minutes later! Faraimo got his hattrick after running onto a flat ball from Evalds and bulldozing his way through three Giants defenders to score!

Cas extended their lead further! This time, just like in the first half, McShane got away from the play the ball quick and scooted over to score under the posts!

Nathan Massey was given the opportunity to take the conversion, and slotted it home with ease! Mahe added another one to Tigers account from close range! Massey this time didn’t take the conversion, but Widdop did and landed it perfectly!

Rounding off today’s scoring was the big man; Albert Vete! He smashes his way over the lin from just 5 yards out for his first try for the Tigers!
