Ahead of the new campaign, Castleford Tigers have now confirmed their First Team squad numbers for 2023!

This year’s numbers were presented to the Fords’ squad along with members of our commercial family at a special Squad Launch Evening hosted at the stunning and picturesque Oulton Hall Hotel.

Lee Radford has made eye-catching additions to his 2023 pack, with all of them receiving a Tigers squad number for the very first time. Standout half-back signings in former NRL Grand Final winner and England international Gareth Widdop and highly regarded as one of Super League’s top halves Jacob Miller will don the number #6 and #7 shirt respectively.

Incredibly promising and adaptable back Jack Broadbent will wear #17 and bulldozing prop Albert Vete will be looking to bring the heat in Cas colours when taking to the field with #19 on his back.

Muizz Mustapha will be looking to hit the ground running at Wheldon Road in the #20 jersey and the trio of youngsters who have linked up with the Fords’ First Team squad this year in Bailey Dawson #27, Jacob Hookem #30, and Junior Mafi #35 have all received their numbers for ’23.

Cas-born prolific winger Greg Eden is rewarded for his efforts last season and will take the #2 jersey. Mahe Fonua’s incredible feat of being involved in every single fixture last year has been noted as the ever-present centre picks up the #4 jumper. George Lawler makes the move to #8 and the ever-popular George Griffin will wear the iconic #10.

Alex Mellor has impressed on and off the field since arriving partway through last season, seamlessly fitting into life down at The Jungle and the dependable second-rower collects the #12 spot.

A number of proud Youth products have made the step up to the First Team fold during the 2023 pre-season. Academy Player of the Year Aaron Willis gets #33 and his fellow Academy graduates Hugo Nikhata #36 and George Hill #34 also pick up their first senior numbers. Elliot Wallis’ try-scoring exploits impressed in 2022 when representing the Tigers’ Reserves side and the winger will wear #26 in his maiden Cas First Team season.

The full 37-man squad list can be found below with their individual player sponsor next to their name, and we would like to say thank you once again for their brilliant support of our players and club!
