Castleford Tigers’ first home game of Betfred Super League 2023 will be against the Champions, St Helens, and the game will be broadcast live on Channel 4!

The first two opening fixtures of the season have been confirmed with the full fixture list for supporters set to be revealed at 8:30am on Thursday, 3rd November. 

The Fords will begin the new campaign on the road on Sunday, 19th February over at the MKM Stadium against Lee Radford’s former club Hull FC, who now have Tony Smith as their Head Coach.

Matches between Cas and the Black & Whites are always memorable encounters, and this Round One clash should be another exciting fixture to kickstart the new competition.

The Tigers have won the last three meetings against the Airlie Birds, the most recent was back in July, in which Cas put an astonishing second-half performance to win 18-46.

It promises to be an enthralling first home match of the season with the reigning champions St Helens coming to The Mend-A-Hose Jungle for Round Two, on Sunday, 26th February with kick-off scheduled for 1pm.

It has been a golden era for the Saints who claimed their fourth Super League title in a row at the end of September, sending their coach Kristian Woolf off with a title. Up steps club legend Paul Wellens to take over and lay his own mark on this successful side.

Castleford and St Helens matches have typically been high-quality affairs, with both sides seeming to bring the best out of each other and it always makes for an enthralling watch. On their last visit to The Jungle in April, Castleford bested the Saints 30-10, but the season score was levelled in August when St Helens held off a late second-half fightback from Radford’s men.
