Revealing our new Match Event Experience
With one week until Castleford Tigers’ 2022 Betfred Super League campaign kicks off, we are thrilled to now reveal our new match event experience for the 2022 season!
As part of the #NewCasEra, the Tigers has sought to improve and enhance supporters’ matchday experiences, listening to feedback including discussion with the Club’s Fan Steering Group, to give supporters more reasons to enjoy and extend their visit to The Mend-A-Hose Jungle beyond just the rugby.
Introducing… our Fan Zone
Heading up our brand new matchday experience, the Club can now reveal we have created an exciting new Fan Zone behind the Main Stand which will feature:
- The ‘Molson Coors Stage’ where entertainment will perform both before and after the game
- A new resident DJ will get fans ready for the game and host a post-match disco and karaoke
- The ‘Doom Bar Real Ale Bar’ – our real ale bar has been doubled in size in the off-season and will feature a number of guest beers
- A brand-new gin, wine, and prosecco bar
- Plus, new street food vendors as part of a 'Street Kitchen' alongside other exciting food options!
So, what fans can expect for Round One?
Around the ground there will be plenty of exciting entertainment for supporters and here’s what you can expect on your matchday visit to The Jungle.
- Headlining our Molson Coors Stage, rock n’ roll band Wizard’s Cuff will be bringing the noise from 6.50-7.20pm, and shortly after full time
- West Yorkshire based acoustic duo The Bangin Tuesdays will be performing at the front of Wheldon Road from 6.15-7pm
- On the pitch, top vocalist Oliver Harris will be serenading the Fords’ faithful from 7.20-7.40pm and then again at half-time
- Keep your night going too with our resident Fan Zone DJ Mark Ridgeway who will be hosting a disco and karaoke following Wizard’s Cuff’s final set.
What food options will be available?
The Fords faithful will have a whole variety of eating choices to choose from around the ground and on the main stadium concourse behind the Main Stand.
- The Street Kitchen inside the Fan Zone
- Southern fried chicken
- Burger bar
- Curry, kebabs, and wraps
- The Princess Street Pie Bar
- Loaded fries and toasties
- Coffee, cakes, and milkshakes
- And for those with a sweet tooth an ice cream and sweet shop!
Get darnt’ lane early!
On top of all that, around the stadium fans will see stilt walkers, balloon modelers, face painters, and even fire breathers!
It all makes for an exciting and memorable visit to The Jungle, so we are encouraging supporters to get down for the game early, come see what we have on offer, and stick around following full time to enjoy your night even further.
Don’t forget about the rugby!
No doubt the main event of the night will be Castleford Tigers getting the #NewCasEra started with Lee Radford taking charge of the squad for the first time at Wheldon Road, and Paul McShane leading the team out for the first time as captain.
The kick-off is scheduled for 8pm – with over 7,500 people already expected to attend – it promises to be an occasion to remember on and off the field for fans.
