Tigers reveal 2022 Squad Numbers
Ahead of the new Betfred Super League season, Castleford Tigers have now confirmed the First Team squad numbers for 2022!
Originally planned to be unveiled at a special sponsors evening with our commercial family in attendance, the decision was made by the Club to not hold the event so close to the start of the new campaign. However, we are looking at holding an event with our fantastic partners in the near future.
So, instead of an in-person event, the Tigers held a Squad Launch Day across all the Club’s social platforms, highlighting each player and their sponsor for the season ahead.
With Lee Radford bringing in eight recruits for 2022, most are receiving a Castleford Tigers squad number for the very first time. Jake Mamo has taken the #4 shirt which was previously held long-term by iconic Cas captain Michael Shenton, whilst George Lawler takes #10 which was worn by modern-day legend Grant Millington for a number of years.
Bureta Faraimo will wear the #5 jersey this year, Kenny Edwards lays claim to #11, numbers #16 and #17 have new players in Callum McLelland and Mahe Fonua respectively, and back-rower Alex Sutcliffe has received #21.
Joe Westerman returns to the club where his professional career began in 2022 and viewed as one of the best loose-forwards in the competition he has been given #13, whilst #ONECLUB man Adam Milner will now wear #12 – his first new number since 2017.
After a fantastic first season with the Fords, Jordan Turner has been given the #3 jersey, whilst the majority of the squad keep the same number they had last year.
Two youngsters from the Club’s Academy setup have been rewarded for their hard work and have earned their first-ever First Team squad numbers, Nathan Carter received #35 and Academy Player of the Year for 2021 Mackenzie Scurr got #36.
The full 35-man squad list can be found below with their individual player sponsor next to their name, and we would like to say thank you once again for their brilliant support of our players and club!
