The Tigers take on the Red Devils in the opening match of Betfred Super League’s festival of rugby league at St James’ Park in Newcastle, on Saturday 4th September at 3pm.

Castleford’s Head Coach makes four changes to the squad that was declared for Monday’s match against Wigan Warriors, with Paul McShane, Jacques O’Neill, James Clare, and Lewis Bienek stepping in. Danny Richardson is out due to concussion protocols, Liam Watts begins his two-match suspension, and Greg Eden will not be available due to a hamstring tear which is awaiting a scan.

Following a frustrating loss last time out, Castleford will be aiming to get back to winning ways and keep their place in the top six positions of the table. With the end of the 2021 regular season on the horizon, the Tigers currently sit in the play-off places and will staunchly want to stay there.

Newcastle has been a happy hunting ground for the Fords with four straight victories at Magic Weekend when the event has taken place in the Toon, from 2015 through to 2018, the most recent of which was an impressive 38-10 win over Leeds Rhinos.

Tickets, coach travel, and travel packages for Dacia Magic Weekend 2021 remain on sale, you can find out more information HERE.
