Squad named for Saints clash

Daryl Powell has named his 21-man squad for Thursday night’s match against St Helens, which will be live on Sky Sports.

It’s a repeat of the 2021 Betfred Challenge Cup Final which took place at Wembley just under a month ago, which saw the Saints fight back in the second half to lift the trophy 26-12.

Revenge will be on the mind for the Tigers as they look to push back into the playoff places in the Betfred Super League table.

Castleford’s Head Coach makes three changes to the 21-man squad that was named for last week’s thrilling win away at Leeds Rhinos, with Liam Watts, Cheyse Blair, and George Griffin back in contention. Alex Foster and Brad Graham step out of the squad declaration for this game, as does Jimmy Keinhorst who completed his two-week loan spell with the Tigers and is now back with Hull KR.

On top of the Tigers' fight to get into the playoff positions, and the opportunity to get one over on the Challenge Cup winners, Castleford will be seeking their first away win at the home of St Helens for nearly 29 years. It would be fair to say then that there is plenty of motivating factors heading into this fixture for the Fords!
