Under 15’s and 16’s TTP sessions on this month!

The weekly training sessions will commence at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Monday 19th of July at 6pm, and the programme provides player pathway opportunities into the Tigers’ scholarship and academy teams.

It will then culminate with an opportunity for participants to represent the Tigers in a fixture against Wakefield Trinity in August.

Not only does the programme provide player pathway opportunities, but also educational opportunities into the Castleford Tigers College.

Castleford Tigers College offers students aged 16+ the opportunity to combine a variety of study programmes with a crucial insight into the sports industry.

Students have access to professional coaches and the guidance from professional sports performance staff alongside their studies and since the course began, various students have gone on to study at university and even become professional rugby league players with the Tigers Men's and Women's first teams.

Castleford Tigers’ Head of Youth Performance Darren Higgins outlined just how important the TTP sessions are in providing a route into the Tigers pathway.

“It is great to be able to run the programme again this summer and offer not only player development and playing opportunities to the participants, but also opportunities to potentially progress on our pathway.

“In previous years we have seen players progress onto scholarship, academy and education pathways at the club and we very much anticipate this will be the case again this summer and hope to see players from the local and surrounding areas take advantage of this outstanding opportunity”

It was fantastic to get our TTP sessions underway for the first time in 2021 back in June and we hope the sessions this month will be just as enjoyable.
