 THE OPPOSITION

Richard Marshall’s team have had a mixed start to the campaign, losing their first three Betfred Super League matches, but their 68-4 thrashing of Widnes in the Challenge Cup and the recent victory over Leigh will have lifted their spirits in the early stages of the season.

Ken Sio tops the point-scoring and try-scoring charts for Salford so far this season with the Australian going over for two tries in the Betfred Super League this term. This week the Red Devils welcome back Kallum Watkins, Danny Addy and Andy Ackers to their line-up.

POWELL’S PREVIEW

Daryl Powell discusses getting ready to face Salford twice in consecutive games and is expecting a tough challenge from Richard Marshall’s men.

“Salford’s form has picked up a little bit, they had a good win last week so they will be confident and for us it’s just about playing well, and we weren’t so great last week, we need to improve significantly on that. I think, in particular, defensively, it’s something we have spoken about a lot this week and there’s challenges for us there.”

“I’m excited for it, first and foremost we want to put in a good performance and get the two points after a disappointing game last week for us. We were not good enough in a couple of areas and we need a good performance and it’s exciting.

“I’ve got a lot of good memories at Salford and some good friends in the team, it’ll be a bit strange going back there but I’m just focusing on the game and I’ll catch up with a few of the boys afterwards.”
