The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been felt across the rugby league community as a whole and within every household across the UK, with an unprecedented amount of uncertainty still existing across the club as the Tigers seek to navigate through this period.

Our board of directors has previously signalled its intention to utilise the club’s share of the Government loan to see the Tigers through the final months of the current season, and as always the continued loyalty and support of the Castleford fans has been incredible and fully appreciated by everybody connected with the club.

The likes of Tigers TV, Daily Draw and retail have all been well-supported throughout lockdown and have played a vital role in generating revenue to allow for the return to action of the first team squad.

Attention now turns to the next steps and activating a significant level of planning that has taken place behind the scenes in recent months. At this stage, the club remains hopeful that supporters will be able to return the Mend-A-Hose Jungle later this season and 2020 season ticket holders will be given priority should that be the case.

However, with several fixtures already played behind closed doors and this likely to continue at least for the short term, season ticket holders will finish this year with a number of unused games and the club is providing three options for these – DONATE, REFUND or DISCOUNT – all of which are explained below.

2020 season ticket holders now have four weeks to complete an online form at www.castlefordtigers.com/ReadyToRoar signalling which of the following three options they would like to select. Please note, options cannot be changed once submitted.

1/ DONATE. Select this option to donate the value of your unused games to the club.

2/ REFUND. Select this option to receive a pro-rata refund for the value of your unused games.

3/ DISCOUNT. Select this option to receive a discount equivalent to the pro-rata value of your unused games against a 2021 season ticket.

DONATE

Select the DONATE option to donate the value of your unused games back to the club. This would mean you would not claim back any refund on this year’s season ticket or any additional credit towards a season ticket next season and this would represent an incredibly generous contribution to the Tigers at a vital time for the club.

If you choose this option, we guarantee that we will not increase the price of your season ticket for the next five years and you will also receive a discount on your season ticket for the next three years of £20 per adult and £10 per concession, young person or junior. Discounts for family tickets will be set at £40 for the two adult and one child package, £45 for the two adult and two children packages and £50 for two adult and three children packages.

Both of these incentives will only be valid should you renew each year for five or three years respectively. Should you move to a new price category within this timeframe, the discounted amount for the new category will apply.

Supporters selecting the DONATE option will also have their name included on a special wall for the next five years to highlight their gesture at this difficult time, whilst names of all season ticket holders selecting the DONATE option will also be featured in the club’s 2022 home shirt.

REFUND

Select the REFUND option to receive a pro-rata refund for the value of your unused games. If you select this option via the online form, you will be sent a form via email to download, complete and return to the club at the end of the season along with your 2020 season ticket card.

Refunds will be calculated on a pro-rata basis determined by the number of home games cancelled or played without crowds when the season is completed. Refunds will be processed in the order they are received at the end of the season.

Season ticket holders who select the REFUND option will still be able to purchase a 2021 season ticket at the 2020 prices and will be given the opportunity to renew their seat as normal prior to any non-renewed seats going on general sale later in the year.

DISCOUNT

Select the DISCOUNT option to receive a discount equivalent to the pro-rata value of your unused games against a 2021 season ticket. The level of discount will be calculated on a pro-rata basis determined by the number of home games cancelled or played without crowds when the season is completed and this discount will be credited against the cost of your 2021 season ticket.

To tell the club which option you would like to take for your 2020 season ticket, please complete the online form available HERE

Please note, you will be required to complete this form for ALL individual season ticket holders, including any concessions within your family or group, before midnight on Sunday, 27th September. For junior season tickets, please include the contact information for their parent or guardian.

Any season ticket holder who does not select one of the three options before this date will automatically be moved into the DONATE category.

GENERAL INFORMATION

At this stage, the club is not anticipating putting 2021 season tickets on sale in club stores as in previous years in order to maintain social distancing. Instead, all purchases will be handled via the stadium ticket office, over the phone and online.

2020 season ticket holders will be contacted by the club once they have made their selection from the three options for a discussion around payment options should they wish to renew for 2021. A six-month direct debit option will be available as normal with full details to follow.

Unless you have selected the REFUND option, all 2020 season ticket holders are asked to keep their cards as these will be automatically renewed for the 2021 campaign should you purchase a 2021 season ticket.

Cards will be issued to new season ticket holders as normal and will be either posted out or made available to collect at the first game next season.

It it is anticipated that 2021 season tickets will go on sale to new season ticket holders – fans who did not hold a season ticket for the 2020 campaign – in mid-October. Further details will be confirmed in due course and it is expected that these new season tickets will be available online only and initially limited in numbers and to standing only.
