3 Tigers picked for England Academy Squad
Posted: Friday 14th February 2020 - 12:15 PM
Three young Castleford Tigers players have been picked for England’s National Academy Performance Squad.
Danny Attley, Archie Fletcher and Cain Robb have all been selected to take part in the training sessions over the course of February and March before Origin fixtures are set to begin. All three players were selected for England last year, Attley for the England Academy side whilst Robb & Fletcher impressed in the England Youth test series against France.
Like the 2019 season, the Origin fixtures will run during the academy season meaning it will form a major part of the England programme.
The England academy squad will tour both New Zealand and Australia over the 2020 season, with the games, fixtures and venues already finalised.
This is an exciting time for the Tigers and we hope they learn and enjoy the experience.
This news caps off a terrific week for Castleford Tigers Youth Department after 17-year old Sam Hall made his Super League debut in Friday night's win over Wigan, alongside Academy products Jacques O'Neill & Lewis Peachey.
Local young players are also reminded about the Tigers Talent Pathway (Under 12-16s) returning next week, further details to follow. To register or for further inquiries please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
