Ben Roberts joined the Tigers in 2015 from Melbourne Storm. Roberts was a regular in Melbourne in 2014, and Castleford fans also got a glimpse of Ben in the Four Nations series, when he faced Michael Shenton while playing for Samoa. Roberts is a quick and skilful half-back, who brings a lethal left-footed kicking game and plenty of experience to the side. In 2015, Roberts found his best form late in the season with some impressive combinations with Luke Gale. He was also at the centre of one of the best moments of the season as his drop goal with just one second left gave the Tigers a win at home against St Helens. Roberts suffered a complicated foot injury that restricted him to just 5 appearances in 2016. However, 2017 saw Roberts back impressing in a Tigers jersey once again. In 29 games the halfback crossed the try line 12 times. In 2018, Roberts will be asked to play a different role with Daryl Powell asking the Samoan international to operate at fullback.
