Matt Crowther started his career professionally with the Sheffield Eagles where he played in the position of Left Wing and scored a try in the Challenge Cup victory over Wigan Warriors for Sheffield Eagles at Wembley Stadium in 1998. Following the club's merger with Huddersfield Giants in 1999, he played for Huddersfield-Sheffield Giants during Super League V season before moving to Hull in September 2000. He remained at Hull until he was forced to retire in 2003 after breaking his leg in a match against Castleford Tigers. Matt joined Castleford Tigers as Head Physio during the 2014 off season, where he rekindled his working partnership with Daryl Powell after previously working together at Feathertone Rovers. Matt was proudly the head physio for the England team in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.
