Michael Shenton

Michael Shenton made his first team debut for the Tigers in 2004. The former Smawthorne Panthers junior signed for St Helens following the 2010 season and scored a try for Saints in the 2011 Super League Grand Final. The centre re-joined his hometown club ahead of the 2013 season. On England duty, 'Shenny' has made nine appearances for his country, scoring three tries. Shenton endured a torrid 2016 suffering an horrendous season ending knee injury in the very first game of the season against Hull KR. The Tigers captain bounced back to have an impressive 2017 which saw him earn his third Super League Dream Team nod, after previously making the team in 2014 and 2015. Despite only scoring 7 tries during the season, Shenton assisted 19 more. The season ended with Shenton collecting the League Leaders’ Shield and him leading the side out at Old Trafford in the Super League Grand Final.
