Paul McShane joined the Tigers on 23 July 2015 on a two and half year deal that saw Tigers hooker Scott Moore move the other way to Wakefield Wildcats. McShane made his Super League debut for Leeds Rhinos in 2009 after joining from Hunslet Hawks at just 16 and rising through the Academy ranks. He played 63 times for the Rhinos before moving to Wakefield in 2013. Since joining the Wildcats, McShane was one of the bright lights in a below average team. He was ever-present in 2015 during Wakefield’s torrid season. McShane took his game to another level in 2017. The hooker was a pivotal part of the Tigers successful season, with many in the media thinking he was unlucky not to be representing England in the Rugby League World Cup. The 28 year old plays a lot bigger than his 5ft 6in stature would suggest and his physicality in defence only adds to his impressive skill with ball in hand.
