Castleford has a rich history, from its roots in Roman Britain as Lagentium to its growth as a mining and industrial hub in West Yorkshire. That strong sense of community remains today, and Castleford Tigers, heading into its centenary year, having been founded in 1926, continues to be a symbol of local pride. The Foundation builds on this legacy, using rugby league and sport to inspire, educate, and create positive change across Castleford and the surrounding areas.

Our programmes provide people of all ages and backgrounds with safe, inclusive opportunities that promote health, learning, and personal development. We deliver a wide range of activities, including school-based education sessions, holiday camps, and enrichment programmes that combine sport with life skills, confidence building, and wellbeing. Our Happy Healthy Holidays initiative supports disadvantaged families during the school holidays, offering childcare, meaningful activities, and ensuring every child receives a nutritious lunch each day. The Foundation is also dedicated to supporting mental health through dedicated programmes such as Offload and Ahead of the Game.

Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We run Learning Disability, Physical Disability, and Wheelchair Rugby League teams, alongside work experience opportunities, giving people of all abilities the chance to belong, participate, and thrive.

Through these initiatives, the Castleford Tigers Foundation empowers everyone across Castleford and the surrounding communities to be active, confident, and inspired to reach their full potential.
