Castleford Tigers joined the Rugby League in 1926 having previously been a successful junior club and since 1927 has always played home games at the current stadium on Wheldon Road which has been known as The Mend-A-Hose Jungle since 2014.
The Tigers have grown into one of the most famous Rugby League Clubs in the United Kingdom and has consistently produced players who have achieved worldwide status in the game of Rugby League while playing in the famous black and amber colours. 32 players have become Great Britain Internationals and 29 have played for England, plus numerous other representing county and other international countries.
As well as a successful team on the field, the off-field operation boasts a pro-active and forward thinking set up which includes the Tigers Trust, the community arm of the club which has charitable status.
The region has always been, and continues to be a rich nursery of Rugby League talent, competing at the top level whilst being centre of its local community.
International players from the area include legends such as half backs Alan Hardisty & Keith Hepworth, who starred for the club in the 1960's to early 1970's, Malcolm Reilly who made his name at the club before becoming a legend of the game internationally and John Joyner who is the player to have represented the club most with 585 + 28 appearances. Most recently current Tigers stars Luke Gale and Mike McMeeken have represented England in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.
Arguably the greatest achievements in Castleford Tigers history, have been four Wembley Challenge Cup victories in 1935, 1969, 1970 & 1986.
2017 was quite a year for the Tigers, finishing the Betfred Super League 10 points clear to lift the League Leaders Shield for the first time in the clubs 91 year history.

Our long term association at Castleford Tigers has proved very successful. We know the Brand awareness has worked and weddings especially have been booked because of this. It has also improved our customer footfall from the local area.
The family feel to the club means we can bring our corporate guests and mix them with friends and family to provide an enjoyable day for all. We are proud to be sponsoring the Tigers and have a great relationship with both the players and nonplaying staff alike.
In terms of value for money and Return on Investment we believe its money well spent.
On behalf of Carlton Lanes Shopping Centre, I would like to say a big thank you for the hospitality you have shown us during our sponsorship. We have partnered Castleford Tigers since 1998, and it just gets better and better! We are looking forward to another successful 2020 with the club.
AJ Glassfibre are now into their tenth year of sponsorship with Castleford Tigers and we are delighted to be associated with the club. Sponsoring Adam Milner – who was capped by England in 2018 - and having our name on the shirt and the billboards around the ground has given us national and international coverage through the matches shown on Sky Sports and the BBC.
Having attended many of the club’s social events, I have witnessed the passion shown for the club by the players, the staff and the supporters. This is something all businesses should endeavour to embrace - and if so they will receive the rewards and success that the Castleford Tigers have.
Being from Castleford, and being a ‘Cas fan’ since childhood, I’ve been lucky enough to build a business relationship with the Tigers since 2014. Through sponsorship, advertising and corporate hospitality, my company ‘Brebur Ltd’ has managed to increase our exposure within the local community, while investing in the future success of the club. All the sponsors involved with the club are treated as a valued partners, who’s contribution ‘off the field’ helps to create the conditions that lead to success ‘on the field’.
The journey so far has been a great experience for me personally, and for Brebur as a company, and we look forward to strengthening our relationship for years to come.

1 Safeguarding Policy
Castleford Tigers Rugby League Club acknowledges its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of every child, young person and vulnerable adult who has been entrusted to its care and is committed to working to provide a safe environment for all of its members. A child or young person is anyone under the age of 18 involved in any club football activity. A vulnerable adult is anyone who may be unable to take care of himself or herself or be unable to protect himself or herself against significant harm or exploitation. We subscribe to the RFL Safeguarding Policy (revised version 2007) and endorse and accept the Policy Statement contained in that document.
2 The key principles of the RFL Safeguarding Policy are that:
− The child’s welfare is, and must always be, the paramount consideration
− All children, young people and vulnerable adults have a right to be protected from abuse regardless of their age, ethnic origin, gender, special needs, disability, class or social background, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, colour or political persuasion.
− All suspicions and allegations of abuse or poor practice will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately
3 We acknowledge that every child or young person or vulnerable adult who plays or participates in rugby league should be able to take part in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from poor practice and abuse. This is the responsibility of every adult involved in our club.
4 Castleford Tigers Rugby League Club has a role to play in safeguarding the welfare of all children, young people and vulnerable adults by protecting them from physical, sexual or emotional harm and from neglect or bullying. It is noted and accepted that the RFL Safeguarding Policy and related regulations applies to everybody in rugby league whether in a paid or voluntary capacity. This means whether you are a volunteer, match official, helper, coach, club official or medical staff.
5 We endorse and adopt the RFL’s Safeguarding Policy on recruiting volunteers and staff and will follow the recruitment procedures as set out in that policy and summarised below:
All current Castleford Tigers Rugby League Club members with direct access to children, young people and vulnerable adults will be required to complete a DBS Enhanced disclosure via the RFL DBS unit.
It is accepted that the RFL aims to prevent people with a history relevant and significant offending from having contact with children, young people or vulnerable adults and prevent them having the opportunity to influence policies or practice with children or young people. This is to prevent direct sexual or physical harm to children or young people or vulnerable adults and to minimise the risk of grooming within rugby league.
6 Castleford Tigers Rugby League Club supports the RFL’s Whistle Blowing Policy. Any adult or young person with concerns about a colleague can whistle blow by contacting the RFL Safeguarding team (see details below).
7 Castleford Tigers Rugby League Club has appointed a Club Welfare Manager (CWM) in line with the RFL’s role profile. The CWM will take part in training as defined in the RFL’s Safeguarding Education and Training Strategy. The CWM is the first point of contact for all club members and parents/carers regarding concerns for the welfare of any child or young person or vulnerable adult. The CWM will be familiar with the procedures for referring any concerns and will play a proactive role in increasing an awareness of poor practice and abuse amongst club members.
8 We acknowledge and endorse the RFL’s Anti Bullying Policy. Bullying of any kind is not acceptable at our club. If bullying does occur, all players or parents/carers should be able to tell and to know that bullying will be dealt with promptly. Incidents need to be reported to the CWM and in the case of serious bullying or adult on child bullying to the RFL Safeguarding Team.
9 The RESPECT Code of Conduct for coaches, players, officials, parents/carers, officials and coaches has been implemented by Castleford Tigers Rugby League Club. The Club has a fair disciplinary system and clear sanctions to deal with any misconduct at club level and acknowledges the possibility of potential sanctions which may be applied by Leagues or the RFL in more serious circumstances. All prospective members will be informed of these codes.

Charity Support & Donations Policy
Castleford Tigers RLFC play an active role within the community primarily through our own community foundation, Tigers Trust, the club's registered charitable arm. It has a long and successful history of managing and delivering a wide range of sports and non sports based initiatives and social inclusion projects in the community. Donations are welcome to help us to carry out this work and Gift Aid can be utilised for UK taxpayers please see our Tigers Trustpages for more details.
We receive a very large number of requests for assistance from many worthy causes, both nationally and locally. We sympathise and realise the fantastic efforts that are put into fundraising. Unfortunately, we are unable to help everyone due to the sheer volume of requests and, as a result, we would like to confirm that our policy for the 2018 season is to concentrate our efforts on assisting the fund raising activities of two charities which are dear to the hearts of many of our fans, namely, The Prince Of Wales Hospice and the Food Bank run by Smawthorne Community Church.
All other requests for donations will be considered on the following basis:
All organisations must be a registered charity or a voluntary or community association or club.
All requests must be made in writing by letter on the organisation's headed stationery to Castleford Tigers RLFC Donation Requests, The Mend-A-Hose Jungle, Wheldon Road, Castleford WF10 2SD and should confirm the reason for the request and be made in good time for any specified event that the organisation is holding, at least 4 weeks notice is required.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept requests made by phone, text, or email.
We will supply a signed colour photograph of our 2018 First Team squad as a donation in all cases, subject to payment of postage and packing if it is to be posted and not collected. If a signed shirt or ball is required then a shirt or ball can be purchased from the club shop in Carlton Lanes and we will then arrange for the items to be signed ready for collection.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to supply any match tickets, cash or sponsorship as a donation.
