Ashworth announced on two-year deal
Castleford Tigers are pleased to announce the addition of forward Jack Ashworth to Ryan Carr’s squad ahead of the 2026 Super League season. Ashworth joins the Tigers on a two-year deal from Hull FC and has previously had spells at Huddersfield and St Helens.
Ashworth brings a wealth of experience to the dressing room with over 100 Super League appearances and a Grand Final winners’ medal, as the club looks to bring that winning mentality back to Castleford. He provides all the characteristics of a game-breaking forward and adds much-needed size and power to the pack.
We caught up with Jack to get his thoughts on the move to Castleford and what the fans can expect from him:
“I’m really looking forward to getting started. It’s a fresh start and with the rebrand and players they’ve signed it’s an exciting time for the club, and it’s a privilege to be part of the journey. I’ll give everything I have each week, and hopefully I can pass on some help along the way to others while continuing to improve myself. I know the fan base is proud and passionate, and I am looking forward to meeting everyone.”
Director of Rugby Chris Chester said:
“Jack adds some much-needed size to our forward pack for 2026. He’s athletic, has good leg speed and plays the game tough through the middle. His versatility is also a big plus for us, having played both in the middle and back row. Jack is excited about the opportunity and is looking forward to playing a big part in our centenary year and beyond.”
Ashworth becomes the latest addition in what promises to be an exciting year for Castleford as the club looks to ensure its centenary season is one fans can truly enjoy.
