Club Vacancy - Lead Academy Physio

The Role
Castleford Tigers RLFC are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Lead Academy Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist, or Sports Rehabilitator to deliver physiotherapy provision across our youth and academy programmes, with some crossover into First Team support.
This is a key role within our medical department, supporting the health, development, and performance of our academy athletes. The successful applicant will work within a supportive governance structure alongside senior medical staff, with opportunities for professional growth and involvement across the wider club.
Key Responsibilities

Provide assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for Academy players.

Deliver pitch-side trauma and match-day cover for Academy and selected Reserves fixtures.

Maintain accurate, contemporaneous medical records and contribute to injury surveillance.

Communicate effectively with coaches, performance staff, players, and families.

Support the First Team medical staff where required.

Supervise and mentor junior staff and students.
Working hours will primarily be during the day, with some evenings and weekends required depending on fixtures.
Essential Criteria

Relevant professional qualification:
-
Physiotherapist: HCPC & CSP registered
-
Sports Therapist: Society of Sports Therapists registered
-
Sports Rehabilitator: BASRaT registered
-

Minimum one year post-graduate experience
-
Level 3 pitch-side trauma qualification (IMMOFP, PHICIS L3, or equivalent), or Level 2 with a commitment to complete Level 3 as soon as possible

Eligible to work in the UK

Full UK driving licence

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to cover training and fixtures
Desirable Criteria
-
Previous experience in elite sport or rugby

Experience working with youth athletes

NHS experience

Location: The OneBore Stadium, Castleford, WF10 2SD (with travel to training and match venues)

Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 (dependent on experience)
