Hull KR 36 - 6 Tigers

Hull KR 36 - 6 Tigers
The Tigers travelled to East Hull on Saturday Afternoon for their BetFred Super League Round 21 fixture against hosts Hull Kingston Rovers at the Sewell Group Craven Park.
The visitors saw some late changes to personal due to a last-minute injury to full back Fletcher Rooney, who was replaced at the back by Jenson Windley.
Castleford found their first attack thwarted when not dealing with the kick off, and the resulting ascendancy form the Rovers attack saw the Tigers struggle in the early exchanges to find any good territory.
The home side camped on the Tigers line and reaped rewards in the left-hand corner with a try from Joe Burgess on twenty minutes, but the visitors found themselves down to twelve men with Jeremiah Simbiken sin-binned from the Rovers build up.
In a repeat of the first try Burgess crossed again minutes later to grab a brace, and the conversion gave the home side a 10-0 lead.
Castleford attack stayed in the mix and a high kick on tackle five from Daejarn Asi tested the back line of the Rovers attack and saw Alex Mellor out-reach the home side challengers to regain the ball and cross the line. Asi added the conversion.
With the half running down, the Rovers attack found field position for testing the Tigers defence and saw Josh Litten jump from acting half and step through several would-be tacklers to go in under the posts. The conversion gave them a 16-6 lead at the break.
The Tigers appeared to have got a foot hold in the game in the early minutes of the second half through a Louis Senior try, but the Video referee ruled the opportunity ‘no try’.
Galvanized by the breach of their back line, the hosts rallied and got back deep inside the Tigers half, working wide left saw a Rovers try swing the game firmly in their favour.
Another try on the hour when the Rovers attack from deep broke free for another converted try to further increase their lead.
Castleford’s attack continued to press, but found limited opportunities in good field position to test their hosts. Another breach of their backline saw the Rovers attack again catch the Tigers back line out for a converted try through Mourgue.
They finished their attack with confirming victory through Burgess who went in at the left corner for his hat trick, and sealed a 36-6 win for the Rovers.
