Tigers and Northampton Saints Join Forces For Training

The club’s first-team squad travelled to Hull this week to participate in a joint training session with Rugby Union side Northampton Saints at Bishop Burton College.

The Saints — 2024 Gallagher Premiership champions and 2024–25 European Rugby Champions Cup finalists — are currently in the north for their pre-season training camp. As part of their preparations, they linked up with the Tigers for a combined training programme.

Led by Director of Rugby Phil Dowson, the Saints were accompanied by their full coaching team, including former Tigers Head Coach Lee Radford, who took up the role of Defence Coach at Northampton in the summer of 2023.

Tigers boss Chris Chester and his squad engaged in a range of drills alongside their Union counterparts, focusing on cross-code skill development. The teams collaborated closely, exchanging insights and working within each other’s training frameworks in a bid to share knowledge and enhance performance on both sides of the code divide.
