Squad named for Doncaster clash

The Tigers will be in a buoyant mood following a good victory over York City Knights last Sunday afternoon and will be looking for back-to-back wins as the Betfred Super League 2022 season closes in.

Cas fans will get a chance to look again at new recruits Alex Sutcliffe, Bureta Faraimo, Jake Mamo, Kenny Edwards, and Mahe Fonua who all made their Cas debuts last week, as did youngsters Ryan Morley and George Collins with the latter scoring a try.

Joe Westerman is named in the Tigers squad for the first time too since making his return to Wheldon Road.

George Lawler now having served his one-match ban he received on England Knights duty is available for selection and could make his Cas debut. Jordan Turner could also notch his first match of 2022 on Sunday against the Dons too, whilst James Clare awaits tribunal regarding his Grade D punching sanction, he too can feature for this fixture.

Fresh off being named in the First Team Squad Launch Day, #34 Jack Sadler could make his first senior appearance since July last year, and #35 Nathan Carter could make his first-grade debut.

There is also great news that our Academy players Freddie Brennan-Jones, Lewis Ransome, and Tom Marris are also named in the matchday squad and could make their bows at senior level.

Sunday’s encounter will be the Dons first match of 2022 and could see coach Richard Horne handing out up to eight debuts, including former Tigers Robbie Storey and Jack Sanderson.
