The 45-year-old has been a key man in Daryl Powell’s coaching setup with both men joining the Fords during the 2013 season, they have been integral to the shift on-field from fighting near the bottom parts of the Super League table to challenging regularly for the play-off positions and contending for trophies.

Sheridan remains firmly committed to the Tigers for the remainder of the season and told castlefordtigers.com: “I have loved it here at Cas, it has been a key part of my life for a long period of time having been here a few years, a period that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have met some great people along the way and loved every minute of it.

“I’ve some special memories and I would just like to thank the Club, I am grateful for what it has done, the players and the coaching staff who made it such a special time, and the fans, I’ve made some lifelong friends here.

“It’s unfinished business for me this year, my sole aim is to get silverware to this Club and to this group of players and staff because they are a special bunch, and to the fans. We have worked long and hard to get to a point where we want to deliver some silverware and my aim is to finish off with a bang, with success for everybody involved.

“There would be no better way of signing off than with a trophy and that is my ultimate aim, and I will work every hour that God sends to try and do that.”
