Tigers saddened by Ian Orum death
Castleford Tigers are saddened to hear of the passing of former player Ian Orum earlier this week.
The versatile made over 100 appearances for the club in the late 70s and early 80s, scoring ten tries and a solitary drop goal that came in a debut victory over Bradford Northern.
Orum also featured for the Fords in the 1983 Yorkshire Cup final after making a successful transition to rugby league after starting his career in union.
After hanging up his boots, Ian spent a number of years in coaching and teaching roles across the Yorkshire area and will be sadly missed.
The club would like to pass on its sincere condolences to Ian’s family and friends at this difficult time.
