Welcome back Wattsy

Liam Watts was forced to miss out the Warrington Wolves match due to rupturing tendons in his finger against Hull Kingston Rovers, however this injury news is not as bad as originally feared and Wattsy should be available for selection for Sunday’s match. Ever the competitor you can be sure that he will want to make an impact when he takes to the field.

Fortress Jungle

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post Cheyse Blair has signaled the team’s intent to make The Mend-A-Hose Jungle an intimidating place for opposition sides to visit. So far the Fords’ home form is two wins from two and Cheyse wants to build on that saying; “I don’t think many teams like coming to the Jungle, we want it to be that way, we want to make it our fortress.” A big part of that is the fans, who showed in the games against Wigan and Wakefield that The Jungle atmosphere is a huge part of intimidating the opposition and boosting our Tigers.

Both looking to bounce back

We don’t need to remind Cas fans too much about what happened last week but defensively the Fords put on a strong showing against Warrington and will be looking for similar efforts against a highly creative St Helens side, but this time finishing it all off with a big win. Similarly, St Helens lost a home league match for the first time since August 2018 against Huddersfield 10-12 in Round Six. Both Cas and Saints have high aspirations for silverware come the end of the year and both will be looking to put the defeat of last week behind them with a victory.

Coote’s comeback

Kristian Woolf will be boosted by having his starting fullback choice Lachlan Coote back in the Saints squad, he’s set to feature for the first time since injuring his knee in the opening round of the season against Salford. He was one of the five Man of Steel nominees, alongside Liam Watts, at the end of the 2019 season and when performing at his best he can be a key influence on St Helens’ attack.

Reunion for Richardson

The former Saint will be looking to have a big game against his former club to continue his rich vein of form at the start of this season, which sees him as one of the top points scorers in Super League. It’s the first time that Danny will have faced his old teammates so you can expect Danny will want to impress by putting on a big performance.
