#BraggingRights Squad Announced

It’s one of Yorkshire’s fiercest derbies with just eight miles separating Castleford from Wakefield and both teams will be aiming to get a victory over the local neighbours and put down a marker for early season form.

The Fords will be looking to bounce back from the away loss to Catalans Dragons at the weekend, whilst Trinity want back-to-back wins after defeating Warrington at home.

Every year Castleford and Wakefield compete for the Adam Watene Trophy, which honours the Cook Islands international who featured for both clubs during his career but tragically passed away in 2008 aged just 31. The trophy itself was specially commissioned and sculpted in New Zealand before receiving a special Maori blessing and then being brought to the UK. The Tigers currently hold the Adam Watene Trophy and will be looking to retain it once again on Friday night.

The Jungle should be an electric atmosphere for derby day and the Tigers are rallying Cas fans to #BeTheDifference once again by making our home an intimidating place for opposing teams to come.

Captain Michael Shenton commented on the support from our first home match of the campaign against Wigan saying: Our home fans are such a huge part of that and the more that turn up the better. Obviously, they want the team to play well so it’s a team effort between us and the fans, we want them to keep turning up to watch us.”

Tickets are available online on the club’s website or you head into our retail stores.
