This week for Castleford Tigers

Posted: Monday 23rd September 2019 - 5:32 PM

This Thursday night the Tigers will be looking to make history by booking their place in a third Super League semi-final in as many years.

However, getting there certainly won’t be easy as standing in their way is an in-form Salford side.

Despite losing to Wigan 18-12 last Friday, Salford showed just how good they are by giving the Warriors a run for their money.

What’s more, Ian Watson’s side are playing on home turf and let’s not forget, our upcoming opponents have won six from their last seven games at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Last time Castleford travelled to Salford they suffered a 26-16 defeat. Nevertheless, Daryl Powell’s side come into this game with plenty of wind in their sails thanks to a 14-12 victory over Warrington last week.

Over 900 Tigers fans have already purchased their tickets and many more are expected to join in the build up to the big game.

This huge clash kicks off at 7.45pm.

On Sunday, Castleford Tigers Women hit the road to take on St. Helens in the Women’s Super League (WSL).

The Tigresses won the League Leaders Shield last week and extended their unbeaten run in the WSL to 13 straight games.

This upcoming Saints game is the last of the regular season meaning if Lindsay Anfield’s side pick up the win, they will secure a history-making unbeaten league campaign.

Kick off is 1pm at the Totally Wicked Stadium and the game will be shown live on the OurLeague App.

Then finally on Monday 30th September, Castleford Tigers are set to launch the Tigers Talent Programme.

This is an unique initiative which will provide a pathway for girls and boys in rugby league.

More information will be released in due course.
