NEXT UP: St Helens

Cas remain in the hunt for a play-off place with three rounds of the Betfred Super League remaining but standing in their way first up are Justin Holbrook’s high-flying side.

Comfortably ahead of the chasing pack and with the League Leaders’ Shield set to be presented following the match against the Tigers, the Saints will also be smarting after losing to Warrington in Saturday's Coral Challenge Cup Final at Wembley.

That has seen this week's opposition stick with a strong squad for Friday's clash with Cas, with only Lachlan Coote, Dom Peyroux and Matty Lees missing from arguably their strongest line-up, in what looks to be a stern test of Daryl Powell’s team and their play-off credentials.

Opposite number Holbrook has got a side full of top Super League talent at his disposal and the Aussie boss will now be eyeing a strong finish to the season and a Grand Final win before returning to the NRL to take charge of Gold Coast Titans next season.

THREE TO WATCH

James Roby
The man is evergreen. James Roby year after year proves himself to be one of the best players in Super League and certainly one of the best hookers. Roby directs the Saints around the park as brilliantly as ever and is still dangerous at the play of the ball to make a break or score a try. No shock to say this but, again, keep your eye on James Roby.

Tommy Makinson
2018’s Golden Boot winner might be the most dangerous man on the win in the competition, making acrobatic diving tries his calling card he continues to shine for St Helens. 17 tries for the season heading into August he could be finish as the league’s top try scorer this season.

Luke Thompson
Likely to be in amongst the selection of Great Britain forwards at the end of the year Luke Thompson is a towering, powerful forward that established himself in 2018 and continues to make his mark known in 2019.
