Tigresses return to Super League action

The Tigresses lost out 16-10 in the final to Leeds and are desperate get back to winning ways and earn their 8thvictory in the league this season.

Despite a disappointing result against Leeds there were some impressive performances from players in the squad. 16-year-old Hollie Dodd played her first game for the Tigresses she ran 200 metres with 22 carries. Grace Field also had an impressive game making 40 tackles!

The black and amber will face Bradford Bulls this Sunday at the Mend-a-hose Jungle. The two sides have met twice this season. The first meeting being at Odsal where Castleford ran out 42-22 victors. 

The teams then locked horns again just 17 days later in the Challenge Cup. The Tigers beat Bradfprd on home turf 48-8 in front of a record home crowd. The black and amber scored an impressive 10 tries with speedy winger Kelsey Gentles scoring a hattrick. 

Bradford currently sit 5thin the Super League with three victories and four defeats. The Tigresses are currently top of the league with a 100%-win record.

Castleford will be desperate to prove a point after a disappointing performance in the final. Head coach Lindsay Anfield spoke to the Castleford’s media team ahead of this weekend’s clash:

It’scritical that we bounce back in style against Bradford. We’ve played them twice this season so far and neither game was easy. We’re expecting another tough battle at the Jungle on Sunday but hopefully we can return to winning ways and turn our focus onto Super League.”
