Castleford Tigers Director of Rugby Jon Wells, on behalf of the whole club, has issued the Castleford Tigers Women a good luck message ahead of Saturday’s match in Bolton in the Women’s Challenge Cup Final 2019.

“Everyone at the Club would like to wish the Castleford Tigers Women the very best for their upcoming final on Saturday. They have made huge strides as a group this season and we all hope they will return home from Bolton crowned as Cup winners."

Wells added: "We are living in an era that is witnessing the true emergence of women’s sport (and in particular women’s team sports); as a father of two young girls who have traditionally looked to pop idols and Olympic athletes as role models – I find it incredibly exciting that I can show them examples of strong, independent women doing their thing and doing it well – on their doorstep, in a Tigers shirt.”

Lindsay Anfield’s side are undefeated in 2019 in both the Cup and Women’s Super League and will be looking to beat the team that they lost to in the final last year: Leeds Rhinos. It promises to be another spectacular showcase of women’s rugby league and the Cas fans have their own allocation inside the University of Bolton Stadium to cheer on the team.

The Women’s Challenge Cup Final will be the opening game of a triple header at Bolton with the men’s semi-finals set to play after. Kickoff for Castleford vs Leeds is 11.15, you can watch online on the OurLeague app and on the BBC Sport website.
