Powell names unchanged squad

Daryl Powell has named an unchanged 19-man squad for this Sunday’s match against Warrington Wolves at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle in Round 23 of Betfred Super League 2019.

It’s the third meeting of the season between the two sides with the Wolves besting the Tigers on the previous two occasions. It’s a Double Header at the ground too as Castleford Tigers Women take on Wakefield Trinity in Women’s Super League action following the men’s match.

Castleford will be looking to make it back-to-back wins following an impressive win over local rivals Wakefield Trinity in which James Clare scored a hat-trick and Jordan Rankin scored a brace. Warrington will be looking to get back to winning ways ahead of their Challenge Cup semi-final against Hull FC, the Wire losing at home to Salford Red Devils 12-22 last Friday night.

The race for the playoff spots is heating up, Super League’s top five teams in the table at the end of the season go into the hunt for a place at Old Trafford for the Grand Final and Castleford Tigers currently sit in sixth, just two points off a play-off position. With seven games to go it’s Warrington Wolves up next for Daryl Powell’s side and the head coach is looking to end the regular season strongly with the games that remain.

PLUS it’s a Double Header on Sunday afternoon with the Castleford Tigers Women in action following the men’s match, the Tigresses take on Wakefield Trinity one week out from their huge match at Bolton in the 2019 Women’s Challenge Cup Final against Leeds Rhinos.

Join us at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Sunday to watch both matches, you cannot watch either of these games on Sky Sports or the OurLeague app, get down to the ground and help #BeTheDifference.

Tickets for this Sunday’s Double Header are available online and from the Tigers Den in Carlton Lanes and the Castleford Tigers Sports Super Store in Xscape Yorkshire.

You can also get your tickets for the Women’s Challenge Cup Final online and in our stores too.
