Castleford Tigers wingers Jy Hitchcox and Tuoyo Egodo will spend the rest of the 2018 season on loan at Bradford Bulls.
Former Australia Schoolboy international, Hitchcox, 28, began his UK journey with neighbours Featherstone Rovers back in 2015, impressing enough at the Championship club to earn a step up to Super League with Castleford Tigers in 2016.
Hitchcox has found it hard to secure a spot in the Tigers first team during his three seasons in Super League, and has spent time on loan with Bradford Bulls earlier this year.
Tigers director of rugby Jon Wells said: “Daryl confirmed earlier this year that Jy Hitchcox wouldn’t be part of his 2019 plans and this loan move will now allow Jy to get some consistent games under his best at the end of the season (when he returns from injury) in his quest to earn a contract elsewhere. We wish him all the best for the next chapter in his career and thank him for his time at Castleford Tigers.”
Tuoyo Egodo made his Castleford debut in Round 7 of the 2017 Super 8s against Hull FC where he bagged himself a hat-trick of tries in front of the Mend-A-Hose Jungle crowd. He joined the club from London Broncos after spending three years in their academy system. Breaking into the wing spots in the first team has been hard this season, with Tuoyo making just two appearances.
Speaking today Tigers director of rugby Jon Wells said: “Spending the rest of 2018 on loan at Bradford will give Tuoyo the chance to get some consistent game time at a great club. During this time he’ll still be training in our full time environment and he’ll continue to grow as a player within our set up, where we hope to see him flourish at Castleford Tigers in 2019.”
