Tigers launch Junior Academy

Tigers Trust, the charitable arm of Castleford Tigers are launching a new programme, the Tigers Junior Academy.

Starting on Monday 24 July, these two new sessions will run weekly here at the home of Castleford Tigers, The Mend-A-Hose Jungle.

Funzone
17:15 - 18:00

Funzone sessions are for 7-9 year olds. The children will play games and be coaches skills by professional coaches and Castleford Tigers players.

Head Start
18:15 - 19:15

Headstart sessions are for 10-12 year olds.  Core skills will be coached in these sessions in preparation for entering the England Talent Pathway (ETP). Sessions will be run by professional coaches and Castleford Tigers players.

Speaking about the new programme Tigers Trust Community Manager Tim Rumford said: "As we approach the end of another highly successful year of Sky Try schools delivery, in which the Tigers community team have engaged with over 25 primary schools in the local and wider region, we are delighted to announce the first phase of our Tigers Junior Academy.  Our Academy will be delivered here at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle by fully qualified level 2 & level 3 coaches from the Tigers Trust and our partners TC Performance Academy. The aim of this programme is to give the children extra core skills learning opportunities - including exploring safe defensive techniques , running mechanics , passing and catching skills."

The sessions are open to children of all abilities and the programme is suitable for children who are looking to try the game for the first time as well as children who already play in clubs and schools 

Sessions will run for the following five Mondays: 24 July, 31 July, 7th August, 14th August, 21 August. You can book the full block of five session for your child for just £20.00.
