Castleford Tigers opened their 2015 Scholarship campaign with a hard fought 22 - 14 victory at London BroncosDespite heavy conditions the young Tigers produced a solid performance against a tough and resilient Broncos side. Try scorers for the Tigers were Luke Standing, Callum Archer, Calum Turner and Lucas Glynn-Riley.
Speaking after the game head coach Tony Smith said: ‘Today has been a great learning experience for our young players, not only have they dealt with the long journey down to London well, they were challenged by a tough and resilient Broncos side. The weather and conditions meant the game was a real war of attrition and although we were far from our best from a football point of view the lads demonstrated a great togetherness and resilience that will stand us in good stead for the year ahead. What was also just as pleasing was the fact that we fielded 6 under 15's players in our squad all of whom accounted themselves well.
