Hauraki Ready to Face Former Team Mates

After giving a strong performance against the Wolves last week, second rower and former Rhinos player Weller Hauraki talked today about playing for the Tigers and having no fear going up against his old team mates.

"It was an awesome experience playing in Castleford Tigers colours last week. A couple of penalties and errors hit us but we've worked on a few things in training and are looking to redeem ourselves on Sunday.

"I didn't have any nerves for the first game. I just wanted to go out there and do my job. It is early days yet, so I still have a lot to show."

Talking of his former club and team mates' performance last week he added, "Leeds looked really strong - they always do at Headingley - and they just seemed to pick up from where they left off from the grand final."

Looking ahead to the big derby on Sunday he continued, "I have given the coaches a few points about some of the players but we know what we need to do from watching their performance against Hull.

"I do still keep in touch with the boys so it will be a bit weird after playing for a couple of years at Leeds but that's behind me now. I'm playing for a new club and it will be a good test for me.

"I don't feel I have a point to prove. I just want to go out there, play some good footy and do what Basil tells me to do. It's a derby so it'll be massive but it all comes down to how we go about things on the day. I'm sure it's going be an awesome atmosphere - I can't wait!"

Tickets are selling quick so buy now to avoid disappointment either online here, at the club shop in Carlton Lanes or by calling 01977 555336.

Remember, it's a derby - anything can happen!
